So many of us are SO Busy these days. I’ve come to realize/remember a few things that are allowing me to be in Joy during these intense times on the planet.
~ The Journey Is Sacred: It’s great to have goals and visions, however it’s the path we’re taking towards them that makes up our actual life. Each destination is just the beginning of another journey, anyway.
~ What We Focus On Expands: “What we appreciate appreciates”. What is it that I DO have? What is the Gift within this adversity? One of my favorite quotations is from the New Testament (hang in there – I quote from a lot of different sources):
“Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” – Philippians 4:8
~ We Have The Option of Responding to Life From a Place of Empowerment: rather than reacting from fear or feeling victimized. We can focus on creative solutions rather than on the problem, taking constructive actions instead of complaining. (I’m just sayin’ – it’s an option.)
~ “Enthusiasm” Literally Means “Into God”: Figure out what turns you on and excites you (OK, besides sex) and bring THAT into the world. The Erotic is bigger than sex. It embraces the creative energy expressed in the many aspects of our lives.
~ We Are Each Ready to Serve as a Greater Blessing in this World NOW: not when all of our ducks are in a row (there are always more ducks)…not when we’re more healed, better educated, have more money, have lost weight, have found the right partner or have finished this project. We are ready NOW. Are we willing?
A quote from Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel: “…God, to Whom our life can be the spelling of an answer.”
A poem from the Sufi poet, Jelaluddin Rumi:
Dance, when you’re broken open.
Dance, if you’ve torn the bandage off.
Dance, in the middle of the fighting.
Dance in your blood.
Dance, when you’re perfectly free.
I’ll leave you with some lyrics from Leonard Cohen:
“Ring the bell that still can ring. Forget your perfect offering. There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.”
If you want me, I’ll be in my Bliss.
Lovingly,
Lynda
